Optical inspection - Machine vision

It encompasses systems that seek to electronically perceive human vision and digitally recognize two-dimensional and three-dimensional objects.

It focuses on improving the final product control through scanners and special high-speed industrial high resolution cameras and their associated elements (lens, industrial lighting, computer, etc.). The advantage of using the camera over scanners is the greater number of viewed items per second.

  • OCR (Optical Character Recognition)
  • Detection of damage
  • Dimension Inspection
  • Packing / Packaging Inspection
  • Reading and decoding barcodes
  • Inspection of print quality
Recognizing and Reading LOT Number and Date (OCR)

Identifying and verifying the accuracy of the given text on various materials (metal, plastic, cardboard, etc.). It is done by checking each character in the text as well as comparing it with the specified text in the program. This kind of control is also the best choice when printing LOT numbers, dates, and production times on a variety of products.

  • Universal tool for automatic font recognition
  • Read and verify each digit
  • A decision good / not good
  • Saving results in a database with a given time
Damage Detection / Dimension Measurement

Detection of damage

It is used when it is necessary to look at the product with regard to possible debris, cracks and the like (eg when making a casting, it is possible to check if there are unwanted cracks or debris).

Dimension Inspection

Dimension Inspection is an area where, with the aid of industrial cameras, the appropriate additional elements perform 3D optical scanning, product inspection and testing, and its comparison with specified dimensions, dimensions and configuration (eg, dimension control of complex structure products that need to be measured manually or some other obsolete methods).

Packing / Packaging Inspection

- eg fluid levels in bottles, pallet filling etc.

Reading and decoding barcodes

- Data Matrix, 1D and 2D barcode, QR, Micro QR, Aztec

Inspection of print quality

- colorimetry (default pantoni), color shades, color check

Machine vision is a relatively new term in our area although it has been used throughout the world for many years.

Depending on the requirements, systems contain one or more cameras that simultaneously record a production element from different sides. In order to ensure an adequate viewing of the elements, they often have to be well-lit. For this purpose, mainly LED lighting fixtures are used.

Every day, market demands for less imperfect products are growing. Installing the electronic vision system eliminates the possibility of leaving a bad product out of the factory.

ASEMO is a Croatian company dealing with the application of this technology. There are many different aspects of the electronic vision that Asemo offers to you and we hope that one of them will suit your needs.
